The Swiss Trauma Society (STS) aims to promote and strengthen traumatology in collaboration with and within the Swiss Society of Surgery (SGC) and the Swiss Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the Musculoskeletal System (swiss orthopaedics) as well as with other trauma-oriented societies, associations and interest groups (Link to Statutes).

Amongst other things, it pursues the following objectives:

  • Strengthening the interdisciplinary sub-speciality Specialised Traumatology

  • Representing the interests of traumatologists in professional policy matters

  • Promoting postgraduate training and continuing professional development in traumatology

  • Promoting high-quality and cost-effective trauma care for the population of Switzerland

  • Engagement in the field of quality assurance in traumatology

  • Representing the interests of traumatologists in professional organisations and during tariff negotiations

  • Promoting cooperation with representatives of other professional societies both nationally and internationally
